Abducted to the Rep. Ireland

by Kerry / Posted 11/09/2011 / Updated 06/08/2013

Hope someone has some advice! My Partners ex girlfriend moved to the Republic of Ireland with their 5 year old son 3 weeks ago. She didnīt tell anyone she was going - Landlord, Work or my partner. We finally tracked them down at her parents house in Co Cork. He went over there on Thursday (his sons birthday) and spoke to his son through the window very briefly. Only managed to wish him a happy birthday before she carried him upstairs. She didnīt say a word, wouldnīt even look at him so he came home. Prior to her moving, my partner had his son every other weekend and one or two nights during the week. Can she get away with this? What can my boyfriend do? Thanks for taking the time to read this :)

This is so similar to my case. My ex wife took my son to Eire on 31st October 2011, telling me by text when she was on her way. I have had my 9 year old son every other weekend, 3 nights, plus every day after school until bed time, for years, and now she says that this is the best thing for him. Itīs going through the courts at the moment, but she is an extremely stubborn and selfish woman, and I donīt hold out much hope of a positive outcome to be honest. Contact the International child abduction agency, he will get legal aid in Eire, but only for the abduction case, not for anything else. Good luck.
