Memories of my Abduction 20 years on - my message to families...

 
"I had just turned 12 when I was abducted to Australia with my 8-year old sister.  My Father had lead us to believe that we were simply going on holiday, but within a very short space of time, it was clear that this had never been the intention at all when we were told by him that we were "never going home".
 
20 years after her abduction by her father to Australia Nicky has written a letter to families dealing with abduction, and shares the memories and feelings of how that experience affected her as a 12 year old girl, and how it has shaped the women she has become today.
 
Nicky believes that addressing the trauma experienced by an abducted child is vitally important in helping with their reintegration and recovery, and would encourage families to seek the help and support they need.

reunite Raises Concerns About the Loss of Specialist Family Lawyers from Legal Aid System


reunite is very concerned about the recent allocation of legal aid contracts by the Legal Services Commission, and how the loss of specialist knowledge from the legal aid system will impact on the quality of service provided to our parents.  We are also concerned about the impact of this on the specialist members of our Lawyers Listing.
 
We have sent a letter to the Secretary of State to raise our concerns and have requested an urgent meeting to discuss those concerns in full.  You can download our letter to the Secretary of State here.
