Launch of reunite´s Guide for MPs
Our Guide for MPs on the issue of international parental child abduction was launched on the 18th March.
The launch took place at the House of Commons where we were joined by Gillian Merron, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and Professor William Duncan, Deputy Secretary General, Hague Secretariat on Private International Law, both of whom addressed guests.
Parental child abduction can cause enormous distress, and knowing which government department to contact in the first instance can be confusing for both parents and MPs. This new Guide will provide MPs with information on which government department to contact and outline the help that reunite and government departments are able to provide.
We would like to thank all those who have contributed to the Guide, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their support and sponsorship of this important initiative.
