UK-Pakistan Protocol Report Summary
Our Report Summary into the UK-Pakistan Judicial Protocol on Children Matters is now also available in Urdu.
Pakistan is not a party to the international legal machinery which deals with international child abduction. In recognition of the high incidence of cases involving wrongful removals or retentions of children between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, and the difficulties experienced in securing the return of the children involved, the judiciaries of the two jurisdictions agreed in 2003 the principles of the above Protocol.
The reunite Research Unit, led by Dr. Marilyn Freeman, has recently completed a research project, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, into the operation of the UK-Pakistan Protocol. Please visit the UK-Pakistan Protocol page in our Research Section for full details of the research, and to download a copy of the Report Summary in English or Urdu.
