UK recognises new 1980 Hague Convention countries

Earlier in the year the UK ratified the 1980 Hague Convention with the Republic of Korea and Kazakhstan, and the Convention came into force on 1st April 2017.

As a result the 1980 Hague Convention can now be used to seek the return of a child who has been abducted or wrongfully retained between the UK and the Republic of Korea or Kazakhstan since 1st April 2017.
