Sponsored Walk
Come and join us on Saturday 11th September, 2010, for our Watermead Country Park Sponsored Walk
The reunite annual sponsored walk is an event that will bring together parents, families, friends and supporters who have been in contact with reunite over the years.
We are also raising money in support of the reunite advice line so that we can continue to offer advice, information and support to parents, family members and guardians.
The whole of the reunite team will be walking so you can come and meet us all and put faces to the names!
We want the reunite sponsored walk to be fun. Walkers are welcome to bring picnics, wear fancy dress and invite as many people as you wish.
The reunite team will be at Watermead Country Park at 10.30am and each registered walker will receive their complimentary t-shirt. Please note; there is a £1.50 fee to get into the car park, so car sharing is advisable where possible.
The 7km walk will begin at 12.00pm and will be signposted.
The walk will finish at the same point that it starts. Please check out here and get your sponsor form stamped again to validate it ready to collect your sponsorship monies. The 7km walk should take approximately one and a half hours, but you can choose your own pace and enjoy the park and it´s many sights and features. Staff will remain at the checkout point until 4.00pm.
St John´s Ambulance will be in attendance from 11.30am until 3.00pm.
Please come and share this special day with us. To obtain a registration form, just ring the administration line 0116 2555345; email us on reunite@dircon.co.uk; or download the registration form here and return it to us by 30th August 2010. On receipt of your registration form, a sponsor pack will be sent out to you. You can also download a copy of the walk rules and information here, and these will be also be included in your sponsor pack.
There is a £2.50 registration fee for over 16´s (under 16´s are free), which will cover our administration costs.
Participants need to be aware that the walk is not suitable for wheelchair users. Pushchairs are welcome, but the terrain is uneven in places.
If you are unable to attend but would like to support the reunite team, or anyone who is walking, then please visit our JustGiving donation page where you can make a secure online donation.
If you would rather make a donation by cheque then please send it to reunite, PO Box 7124, Leicester, LE1 7XX.
